"First, I would like to share it takes a lot for me to post about my experience. When I say a lot, I mean excellent service or better. Today I write to all the people who are suffering from some sort of shoulder injury. My challenge “I thought” was my shoulder, after seeing Dr. Alessandro at Excel Orthopedics and an MRI he found I had partial tears from two of the three connections that assist in lifting my arm forward, sideways, and overhead, suggested PT first as he felt I may not need an operation. All I know at this time is I am approaching 60 and felt my body was shutting down and limiting what I can do physically so Dr. Alessandro referred me to PT verses operation. My wife had a previous experience, very positive at Tewksbury Physical Therapy (TPT) and suggested to seek help from them. WOW, I suffered from acute pain that radiated from my neck, through my shoulder and down to my fingers in my left arm. Day one I meet for the first time Denise who looks at the MRI, listens to my story of pain and the many things I no longer can do with one arm working. Denise took care in examining me and after Denise states you have a neck issue that she felt is causing most of my pain. True, I have not been able to turn my head left, right, or up to the sky for decades. Thought this was normal of an aging male, could not have been more wrong. Denise went to work on what she felt was important, my neck and my torn rotator cuff attachments. At the end of day one I left feeling a little better but then later that night I got the best night sleep I had in several months; the acute pain was brought to a low roar as compared to when I first walked in. By the end of my third visit the acute pain was gone but still taking two Aleve and two Tylenol a day to help me manage my workday and sleep. Mostly because I feared I would feel that pain if I didn’t take the meds. By the end of the first month all throbbing pain was now gone and my need for the meds mentioned no more. As she continued the work in my shoulder, she also went to work educating my mind on what she is doing and why and how I need to also retrain my brain to realize the pain is gone and it’s OK to move my arm and use it again. Today I write this to share after two months of seeing Denise and sometime Heidi (The team at TPT is simply amazing) the pain is no more and now she is showing me on the few days remaining how to properly exercise my upper body that will end up holding my shoulder better in place and more importantly position. I am stronger than I have been in years, more flexible, standing stronger, walking with purpose and confidence as well as being able to now turn my head left or right without turning my body. Denise rocks, I wish I met her decades ago. Denise suggested I join a gym or home exercising to keep up the strengthening exercises she has been teaching me. After a few gym visits, I shared with her the exercises I feared would re-injure me. Denise literally would put me to work on the exact fear showing me my brain is preventing me not my body. If you are experiencing what I shared don’t hesitate to reach out to TPT, it doesn’t matter which person gets assigned to you they are all amazing people who truly care. I now look forward to Golf, Water Skiing and Mountain biking this spring thanks to Denise and team. Anthony"

"I have had a lot of bad luck with falls, accidents and had to go to a lot of physical therapy places in my life. In the last year in a half I have had 2 rotor cuffs repairs with the first one back in November of 2020 (which failed)I started at NE Rehabilitation in lowell they were not very good always rushed through everything discharged to early. My doctor sent me to TPT. This place is amazing . then in October of 2021 found out that repair failed so had to have another one in December of 2021 this time with a new procedure a cow patch. I start with Jessica she explained everything so well to me she is so awesome. Then I had Judy who was also great. They never rush you, they explain everything so well to make sure you understand. I also had Dave who was also very good. They were all very professional, compassionate, and treated you like a family member. I highly recommend this place and it looks like I’ll be going for a third round on the same shoulder sometime in the near future I’m gonna need a whole new shoulder replacement and I wouldn’t go anywhere else but this place. "I have been treated at Tewksbury Physical Therapy for a littler over three years now. In 2017, I was diagnosed with a rare neuroimmune disorder called transverse myelitis which resulted in paralysis from my legs to my chest. I was able to walk again before I came to Tewksbury PT, but I was not in a good place physically. I had a lot of back pain, and I was very weak. Daily activities were a struggle, and college and work were out of the question. Lou told me that he could help me, but first, I had to want to get better. Now, I am in college and am able to hold a part-time job. I can go for long walks with my dog and play piano again. Lou provided me with the support and guidance I needed to get through the worst time in my life. He never stopped believing in me, and that belief made me feel like I really could have my quality of life back. He is always coming up with new exercises to do based on what stage of recovery you are at. I went from having the worst pain I've ever experienced to relatively no pain at all. At Tewksbury, you have to put in the work, but you are never alone in your recovery. As Lou once told me, "We treat the entire person, not just the injury." I can't say enough about Lou, and I couldn't recommend a better place to recover then at Tewksbury PT."

"i’ve been going to tewksbury physical therapy for a couple of months now with an undiagnosed issue in my joints. i am by no means a good communicator of my problems. the first time i met jessica she asked me what hurts? and i responded “everything” when does it hurt? “all the time” what activities cause the pain? “all of them” with pretty much zero to work with she chose an area to focus on and dove in head first doing everything she could to alleviate my shoulder pain. with that somewhat under control she began working on my knees and back. two months later my symptoms are still undiagnosed but jessica has never given up. i’ve got a long road ahead of me but with all of the time and effort she has dedicated to me i’m certain that eventually we will find a way to get me back to feeling like myself. long story, yes, but TPT, jessica and the entire staff are extremely welcoming and educated. i would highly recommend any of them for your PT needs and maybe i’m a little biased but especially jess! thank you so much for everything you’ve done and continue doing for me!"
