Louis Coiro, PT
Louis Coiro is the founder of Tewksbury Physical Therapy and Drum Hill Physical and Sports Therapy. He graduated in 1982 with a degree in Physical Therapy from UMass Lowell. Prior to staring his private practice, Louis worked at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. While there he treated traumatic brain injury and pediatric patients. He also worked in their outpatient orthopedic center and pain management program. Louis remains an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). He has lectured nationally for the Private Practice Section of the APTA.
“My goal with all my patients is to stay actively involved in all aspects of their care. I achieve this by providing hands on skilled therapeutic techniques, appropriate restorative exercises, and ongoing education at each visit. I not only want to see you recover, but also gain a sound understanding of your condition along with having the tools necessary to self-manage once your therapy is completed. I enjoy working with surgical and non-surgical orthopedic patients, spine conditions, neurological patients including MS and stroke rehab, pediatrics and infantile torticollis patients.”
Louis considers on going professional education a necessity, as health care practices and procedures are continually evolving. He has attended numerous courses in orthopedic surgical and non-surgical rehabilitation principles. Locally, he serves on two advisory boards at UMass Lowell: Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences and the School of Physical Therapy and Kinesiology. He is also the current President of the New England Physical Therapy Network.
Outside of the clinic he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and gardening. He stays physical fit through outdoor activities in every season.
Denise Farnsworth, PT
Denise is a physical therapist who has served patients in our practice for over 30 years. She graduated in 1984 from Boston University's Sargent College of Allied Health Professions. Starting her career at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Denise had the opportunity to gain experience treating patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team in general medical, general surgical, orthopedic, neurological, and acute-rehab services.
Applying the PT skills she has honed over the years, Denise helps patients of all ages, with various orthopedic and neurological issues. With her vast experience and knowledge base she helps patients achieve their therapy goals and return to function. Her particular areas of interest are the treatment of the SI joint and core stability training.
When she is not working, she enjoys the outdoors staying active with hiking, running and scuba diving.
Michael Bove, PT
Michael received a degree in physical therapy from Northeastern University in 1989. We have been proud to count him as a member of our physical therapy team since 1998. Michael applies more than 20 years of experience as a physical therapist in order to evaluate and treat patients with diverse orthopedic injuries.
He has attended numerous continuing education courses to increase his knowledge base for treatment of the shoulder, back, and upper and lower extremities. Michael is a member of the APTA’s Sports Therapy Section, the Athletic Trainers Association, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Michael proudly boasts a black belt in karate, and is also a qualified karate instructor.
David Thomas, MSPT
Dave is a physical therapy who enjoys working with various orthopedic and post-surgical patients. He has been working at Tewksbury Physical Therapy since 2007. Previously he worked for 5 years at a private outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic.
Dave received his Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at Northeastern University in 2002. He decided to become a physical therapist after tearing his ACL in high school which required reconstructive surgery. Going through the rehabilitation process, Dave came to understand the benefits of physical therapy. In his career he enjoys helping people return to sports and active lifestyles.
Dave has taken various continued educational courses related to neck, shoulder, hip, knee and back. These include the Mulligan Concept of Mobilizations with Movement, Advances in the Evaluation and Treatment of the Shoulder and Knee, Sports Medicine Orthopedic Management, Advances in MRI and Orthopedic Management, Kinesiology Taping, Graston Technique and the Hesch Method for Effective Treatment for the SI, Pelvis and Spine.
Dave lives with his wife and two children in Tewksbury. He enjoys watching sports, golfing and fishing. He is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2000.
Jessica McLaughlin, DPT
Jessica graduated from the doctorate program at University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2014. In 2018 she received her certification as a vestibular therapist from American Institute of Balance. She worked for 6 years working for an Otolaryngologist utilizing the Epley Omniax to treat complex BPPV. Jessica recently has become a falls prevention specialist this past year as well. She has also worked with Encompass rehabilitation hospital on the neurological floor working with traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease, and stroke exclusively prior to joining our team in 2020. She brings a wealth of knowledge to our practice and keeps her patients engaged and educated throughout their physical therapy program.

I enjoy seeing my clients through their entire rehabilitative process to regain function and confidence in their abilities once again. It is so important to educate a client about their body to better understand the role therapy can play in recovery. I am a very hands-on therapist who believes properly applied skilled therapeutic techniques and solid education are the foundation for success.”
When not at work, Jess is a mother of two small boys that enjoys gardening and hiking alike.
Kathleen O’Neill PT, DPT, MS, CSCS, USAW Level 2
Kat is a physical therapist who enjoys working with various orthopedic and post-surgical patients. She has been working at Tewksbury Physical Therapy since 2021.
Kat received her Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from Merrimack College, Master of Science in Physical Education from Bridgewater State University and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from UMass Lowell. Prior to becoming a physical therapist Kat worked as a strength and conditioning coach for athletes of various levels from youth to professional athletes, with special interest in Olympic weightlifting.
In her spare time Kat competes and volunteers in weightlifting and enjoys hiking with her dog.
Lori Tyler, PTA
Lori graduated from Newbury College in 1992 with an associates degree in AS in PT. She has worked in various settings throughout her career such as long term care, rehab settings and homecare, but always had an interest in the outpatient PT setting. She has been with our practice since July of 2005. She came to our practice when her boys were babies, now one is a Sophomore in high school and her other son will begin his Sophomore year at college in the Fall. Lori enjoys treating pre and post-op orthopedic injuries, neck and low back injuries with the main focus on getting people back to their previous level of function. She has taken continuing education courses and is a Graston provider.
Heidi Young, PTA
Heidi earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Movement Science at Westfield State College in 2004. She then continued her education at Franklin Pierce University, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Heidi has brought her enthusiasm and compassion in treating patients of all ages since 2004
Her clinical interests include sport and overuse injuries, total joint replacement, gait dysfunction and posture assessment. Heidi attends orthopedic clinical education courses. She is a Graston Technique provider.
Heidi enjoys spending time with her family and dogs at Lake Winnipesaukee. She lives an active lifestyle including Barre classes, running, hiking and boating.
